| A Common Message for the Common Person
Appreciation of what you have...
just look... Look Up above you right now as you read...
most likely you have a ceiling...therefore you most likely have a roof...
Appreciate that everytime you take a ride home...in fact...
Whenever you take a ride.. think about how you have a ride..
And when you think about going home... wow.. you have a home
heck you wake up most of the time knowing that you'll wake up
Appreciate. Just something that popped in my head a few minutes ago

| After hearing this sermon on my ipod during a free period in school, it really got me thinking..
Here's the scene:
It's 4th period Spanish and the teacher isn't there. There's a sub tho with some work. I finished the work in like 3 minutes with so much time to spare. I had no work I had to do, so I sat there. I took out my ipod and turned on a sermon that I found online. The title of the track was "Passionately Loving God in a Lukewarm Church". Already the title got me questioning. Then I listened. I sat there and listened. I took out my pen and my agenda book and began taking notes. I didn't care where I was writing the stuff down, but it was all over the side of the homework. Well, I listened and listened. God spoke for a bit. "Don't forget to really check yourself. Sometimes you believe you're somewhere, but you're actually nowhere at all."
These points stuck out to me:
- Lukewarm concept in Revelations (hot or cold? one or the other, that's it) - how can a basketball game be louder than the church worship (and the pastor put himself in the perspective of God for second..and asked if this is forreal) - crazy things we do when we're in love
I liked all the points brought up. When he talked about how people do crazy things when they're in love. He talked about how people who are love with another would do anything and give anything and wouldn't care how much he/she gave. Then he pointed out how our service to God should be the same - that serving God shouldn't be burden but free in crazy love. He said "God is most glorified when were most satisfied in Him".
When he talked about how emotionless the church as a whole has grown and ask how could a basketball game be louder and exciting than worship of God, I was like "whoah". It seems true, when made the connection. For second, the pastor put himself in the perspective of God and asked if this is the best the children of God can do...are they forreal...
He connected that to the Lukewarm church concept in Revelations that God will spit the church out. Hot or Cold?
After hearing the whole sermon, I began to really look at myself for the rest of the day. I asked myself: Am I Hot or Cold or am I just lukewarm and right in between?
I'm asking myself that still and continuing to ask it because if i don't give my all to God, then what am i doing? I'm holding on to "this". If i don't serve God like I'm crazily in love with Him, then what do i do? My prayer is serve God without burden, without chained obligation, but with freedom to give my all. My prayer is serve God like I'm crazily in love with Him as I do sometimes for the people I love here - would do anything and give anything and wouldn't care how much I give...it's tough, I know.
I'm asking myself if I'm lukewarm. Ask yourself as well.
